Stop... Carry Light

Stop... Carry Light

Approaching the start of the new year (2025), I found myself feeling utterly exhausted, desperately wondering how on earth I'd be able to live 'in excellence' for Jesus when I was already feeling this tired...

It was at my most exhausted & most desperate point that Precious Holy Spirit started ministering to me concerning this...

Turns out… I was "carrying too much" & I was too "hurried" & this was draining me.

I wish to share with you what I've learnt thus far on this journey with Jesus, in the hope that it may help you - either to refocus on Jesus and/or to feel less overwhelmed & drained…

In essence, what I learned is this:

We can WORK HARD.

but we are to always CARRY LIGHT...

By this I mean to say; contrary to the picture painted for us by society & the world, “Hard Work” is not driving yourself into the ground, numerous late nights, forgetting to eat (or to drink enough water) & sacrificing yourself (& your health) to get the job done or to help others succeed.

Yes, as followers of Christ we are to consider others above ourselves, but this does not mean that we are to stop caring for ourselves & neglect ourselves to the point of our health deteriorating. God explains to us, by the writings of Paul that our body is a temple of Almighty Living God (Romans 12:1), & that we are to present our bodies as a Holy, Living Sacrifice unto God. In order to present a worthy sacrifice, we each need to take responsibility for your body & our life & to care for & look after our bodies & lives as a Sacrifice & Worship unto Jesus. Honouring God for the Precious, Sacred Life Breath that He has granted us.

So, Working Hard should be:

Doing everything in excellence, but working only on whatever God leads us to do - in the time that God leads us to do it. Yes, there may be busy times & times of working fast, but there should never be times of feeling anxiously rushed - for this is NOT of God… And we are to give NO place to the devil!

Jesus says His Yoke is easy…

Jesus also says His Burden is LIGHT!

(Matthew 11:28-30)

Therefore, if what you are carrying or doing in any way feels to be weighing you down, then you’d better stop & pray on the matter… Check in with God to ensure that you are doing what He wants you to be doing in this moment, also to obtain the Mind of Christ on the method in which you ought to be performing said task & lastly, to surrender it all to God - realising that God can only begin to work and move His Hand over the matter when we “let go & let God…” We are not to struggle, nor to try to do anything out of our own capacity - not even the smallest, most mundane task. Jesus says in John 15:5 that we can do NOTHING WITHOUT HIM (Jesus) - Nothing out of ourselves…

All this to say, in order to feel less drained and tried, we need to begin to live from within God's Ability & enabling. We are to come to the point where we act & do solely by God's Power.

To achieve this, we simply need to enter into the habit of continually checking in & giving over to God, so that we can live & do - not by might, nor by our own power, but solely by the Spirit of God…

Check in with God:

    1. Am I doing what God wants me to be doing in this moment?
    2. Get Guidance - Obtain the Mind of Christ
    3. Surrender it all to Jesus

This is when we can run and not grow weary & walk and not faint, for then nothing drains us, for we are living from out of God’s Reservoir, or Ability & Power Source.

More on how to "un-hurry" your life is to follow in the near future.

(Watch this space...)

I challenge you to truly surrender every single task & question, worry & decision over to Jesus.

Stop carrying weight that you were never meant to carry. It means nothing & has no eternal purpose - learn to live Lightly & Freely as Jesus intended for you - by the guidance of the Holy Spirit!

I bless you in the Wonderful Name of Jesus!

Amen & Amen.
